Artist Message:

Everything on this map of Great Britain is done in the style of Tolkien. The inspiration I took from his technique when making my maps flows through every river, is engraved into every little valley and mountain, and lines every coast and island.

Even the place names are done in a Tolkien style font to make this map of Great Britain feel like it comes from somewhere deep in middle earth. 

Over the 60 or so hours that it took me to create this map, I can estimate that I drew over several thousand trees, dozens of place names and several hundred mountains.

I love the sense of fulfillment when I finally finish a map like this and step back to look at it as a whole. Solely at this point do I notice that this sense of completion is dependent on the combination of each little detail and feature spread across the map. It is only once everything has been added that the map truly feels complete and can begin to captivate those who gaze upon it. 

I hope that you can now experience the same joy, wonder and satisfaction I had when making this map when you introduce it into your home.
