Artist Message:

Everything on this map of Great Britain, featuring England, Scotland, and Wales, is hand-drawn in the style of Tolkien. The inspiration I took from his technique flows through every river I drew and is engraved into the valleys of the Highlands and the lines of the rugged coasts. Even the place names are written in an elegant yet clean elvish style font to make the land feel even more wonderful.

This project took me over 80 hours to complete using just pen and pencil. I drew thousands of individual trees to accurately display the forest density and coverage across the island. I spent days mapping the rolling hills of the Lake District and the Peak District, and carefully sketching the islands of the Inner and Outer Hebrides off the coast.

The winding paths of the River Thames, River Severn, and River Trent were carefully traced, alongside the famous Loch Ness and Loch Lochy in the north. I also included a scale and labeled the surrounding waters, including the Irish Sea, North Sea, and the English Channel. You can be sure to find where you live on this magnificent hand-drawn map, as I have labeled hundreds of cities and towns in striking red to create contrast with the black of the terrain.

I loved the sense of satisfaction after finishing and stepping back from this map to observe the history and geography weaving together to create something timeless that would pique the interest of any onlooker.

I ordered the map of the USA as an Elvish map, and it looks great! The service was surprisingly quick as well. I ordered it framed with wooden frame, and furthermore I ordered it about a week before Christmas, and it still showed up just after Christmas (not an issue, since I ordered it for me). So the shipping speed is excellent. The map was well packaged and protected (which is good, because it looks like the box took some hits along the way), and arrived in great shape. The sale price was helpful too! ;-) I would definitely do business with this company again!
